Stationary amphibian guidance wall

Our stationary amphibian guide wall made of 100% recycled plastic are effective protective devices to prevent amphibians from crossing roads all year round.

Depending on the protection concept, they reliably guide the amphibians to a crossing aid or a trap and thus make their contribution to the protection of animals, species and amphibians.

Due to the possibility of the perforated guide wall, the guide walls can even be installed in areas where running water occasionally occurs. In these areas, too, the stationary amphibian barrier ensures optimum amphibian protection.

The stationary amphibian guide wall meets the requirements according to the leaflet on amphibian protection on roads MAmS Edition 2000 for blocking and guiding devices.

Optionen

1. Corner hinge mounting for angles from 20° - 340° possible with all types
2. Perforation also possible with embedded and overmolded stainless steel grating to drain any water that accumulates.

Installation of the amphibian guide wall

  • Mounting the amphibian guidance wall, each single plate is overlapping about 80 mm at the joints
  • The fixation of the guidance walls with each other and to the steel or plastic posts (if mounted on open field) is carried out by using cable ties (standard polypropylene, by request V2A steel) or screws.
  • The guidance walls have small openings through which the cable ties can be inserted and tightened from the rear. In addition the individual guidance walls are equipped with 3 drilling holes at the front overlapping joint, through which the individual plates can be screwed together if required.
  • All guidance walls come standard with horizontal slots for attaching the running surfaces. If the running surface is not in use, the plate must be entrenched 15 cm deep into the soil to prevent the amphibians from slipping through these slots.
  • If it is not possible, due to the ground condition, to dig the plates 15 cm deep into the soil, the guidance wall can be adjusted by using standard tools or project-related it can be produced without any slots.
  • The running surface with a width of approx. 350 mm is just hung up into the wall elements and fixed with 2 screws. The running surface overlaps at the joints, too. and drops under an angle of approx. 4° outwards and the outer end of the running surface is entrenched approx. 50 mm.
  • By the application of the angle hinge the guidance walls can be bent in any angle between 20° and 340°.
  • For the installation of the system neither heavy-duty equipment nor road closures are necessary. With suitable ground conditions up to 400 m of guidance walls can be installed by 2 people per working day.

Material properties

  • 100 % recycled mixed plastic of polyolefins
  • Colour black or custom colours
  • No PVC shares or metallic residues
  • Temperature-resistant and dimensionally stable at -30° to +50° C
  • UV-resistant
  • Hydrophobic – this resistant to first and de-icing salt
  • Resistant to bites from rodents and small game
  • Supports of hot-dip galvanised steel or U-shaped plastic supports

Your benefits at a glance

  • Insurmountable guide wall thanks to 1-shape
  • Permanent positive-lock connection between the guide wall and tread
  • Impossible to climb through due to large overlapping joints
  • Can be adjusted to any terrain with standard tools
  • No road closures or heavy plant needed for the installation
  • The guide wall can be dismantled and erected elsewhere if the migratory behaviour of the amphibians or the terrain changes
  • Available with perforations on request to drain any water that accumulates. The amphibians are still held back reliably.
